Caroline County's local jail closed in 1998 and after that, Caroline joined with Pamunkey Regional Jail (PRJ) which consists of Caroline, Hanover, and the Town of Ashland.

Our court deputies are responsible for transporting inmates to and from the jail. Our court deputies provide security to both the court judges and their staff. during court proceedings.
